A non profit with a 10,000 sq. ft. facility and an average annual utility cost of $80,000 has developed a plan that, when completed, will reduce their power usage by almost 40%.

The lighting project alone will reduce the current usage from 92,000 kilowatt hours to 62,247 kilowatt hours, a savings of 33%. With capital investment needed, the payback period was just slightly over 3 years.

Additional measures such as insulation, window film, conversion from oil to gas for heating, and a 20kW solar system are expected to attain a total reduction of almost 50%.
